In the Hot Seat: Tanya

How did you get your start in the industry?

After an exciting career in the travel industry, I was very eager to make a change to the media industry. I didn't just let the opportunity come to me, but rather showed initiative and reached out to key decision-makers in an agency. They were really supportive and gave me my first break as a co-ordinator. Many years ago now!

What are your tips on getting into the media buying/advertising industry?

If you're willing to put in hard work, be open to challenges, and are eager to learn, you've made the first step right there.

What is the best way/your best practice for brands to advertise?

With media changing so rapidly, it is great when brands are open to new opportunities and are willing to test and learn.

What change/s would you like to see in the industry?

Work/life balance is so important to ensure quality work is produced. We also spend so much time with colleagues, it is great when the work environment has this balance just as we have here at Hotglue.

What are your favourite things to do on the weekend?

Watch the Tigers play of course! 🐯

NOW FOR SOME HOT FIRE QUESTIONS…

What would you rather: have a Friday or Monday off work?

Easy—Friday.

What would you rather: answer the phone each time it rings for a week or load and empty the dishwasher for a week?

I’ll answer the phone.

Who in the office is most likely to want to put their two cents during a discussion?

Me!
