In the Hot Seat: Ange

What have you been up to?

Indulged in my skincare obsession through my work (I’m very lucky).

Did you face any challenges during this project?

Growing Instagram communities asking heaps of questions! But it’s what inspires some of our best content.

What has been your favourite project while at HG?

Hard to choose but one of the highlights was working on a collab between Lancôme and Lekker bikes to give away two beautiful bikes for Valentine’s Day. And bringing the love of Paris to life for the same brand through storytelling on Facebook – completely product-free content. Something not really being done at the time, and only possible due to the client’s faith in allowing us to try something I just felt would work!

What is the biggest mistake that businesses make when they post on social media/advertise/produce and edit content?

Thinking only about what they want to tell users, rather than paying attention to what they want to hear. And not talking to them like you share the same passion. It’s a two-way street. As necessity is the mother of invention, all the best content responds – it’s being flexible to what they’re asking for.

What change do you want to see in social media?

More realness, more brands taking risks with their identity, more niceness, more good news stories and positivity. I love the rise of authenticity, humour and satire. We’re far too serious about stuff sometimes, and social should provide a counterpoint to what’s in the news!

What is your favourite thing to do on the weekend?

Go for a run, read a book, and forcing cuddles on my kelpie, Luca.

NOW FOR SOME HOT FIRE QUESTIONS…

What would you rather: answer the phone each time it rings for a week or load and empty the dishwasher for a week?

Everyone knows because I grumble about it that I’m one of two people that empties the dishwasher! (laughs) I’d choose the dishwasher though! How funny! I know I’m not going to answer the phone because it interrupts you, whereas the dishwasher you can do when you want.

What would you rather: have a Friday or a Monday off from work?

I know everyone says Monday because they recover from the weekend, but I have a very boring life and I’d rather have a head start and have the Friday off. Especially if you’re going somewhere, you can nick off early.

What would you rather: hand write all of your reports or hold a pitch meeting?

I would hand write my reports because I really like handwriting and I think it’s a lost art! We all type these days. I don’t mind handwriting, I would definitely do that.
