What’s your desk set-up like from home?

My desk setup is a bit small. I sit next to my partner and we have a full table of screens on everyday! When we each have meetings we leave the room but aside from that we're the closest we've ever been.

What have you enjoyed most about WFH?

No more trains. I have commuted for years to work and this is the first time I consistently haven't needed to. It's amazing how much more productive you can be when you're not running to make a train at the start and end of the day.

Have you overcome any challenges while WFH? 

Finding a productive space in the house was initially a challenge. I tried the kitchen table for a time, and although less crowded, it was more distracting as I would head to the fridge a few too many times throughout the day! My partner and I eventually decided that being in the same room was actually the most productive environment for both of us as we had double screens and a proper separation between our “home” spaces and the “work” space.

What do you miss most about being in the office?

Our broader team! The Hotglue team is like a second family, even though we all work in different parts of the business we know each other really well. Whether it's watching Bachelor recaps, chatting about upcoming projects or discussing which footy tips are the most reliable for the week, I miss seeing everyone! I'm hoping we all get to see each other again IRL before the end of the year— my fingers are crossed.

What have you been working on lately?

At work: Aside from my usual account management for some of our L'Oréal brands, I've had some exciting shoots on the cards!

All the free lockdown hours outside of work: I have been documenting this time on film while riding around the city and have been using my own digital equipment to take headshots of my housemates.

Have you been doing anything differently?

I regularly haven't been wearing makeup! I also have been riding my bike to the office when I need to pop in for photoshoots. Prior to lockdown, I had never ridden that far so discovering the Capital City Bike Trail has been a revelation. I love the ride through the city and along the Yarra, even if the city is looking a bit different these days.

What is your go-to snack at home?

Coffee. When I first started at Hotglue I didn't even drink coffee, so times have definitely changed.

… done a virtual meeting with trackies or pjs on? No.

… shopped more online because you’re home to receive it? Yes.

… had to balance working with a partner/housemate? Yes.

… enjoyed longer sleep-ins? Yes.
